 Edinbrook Church Edinbrook Church in Brooklyn Park, MN was running out of space in every way – Christian Education, childcare, parking, and worship. They were up to 3 services on a weekend. The 20% growth rate per year that they had been experiencing was reduced to about 7% mostly because there was no longer room for people to participate in the life of the church. Edinbrook Church believed God was challenging them to build big, with vision for reaching a multitude of people in the future. Numerous banks had declined their requests for funding, stating they needed a larger loan than was "reasonable." The BGC Cornerstone Fund was able to come along side of them recognizing an opportunity to help build the Kingdom of God. The Fund stepped in where no one else would; making it possible for the church to move ahead with the vision God had given their leadership. Within six months of moving in to their new facility, the church had grown almost 25% in worship attendance. Beyond that, the new facility has provided a tool that is better suited for meeting the needs of the community. Pastor Ivan Veldhuizen states “We are convinced that the new building will enable us to reach hundreds of people for Christ that we would have never reached without it. That is our passion...that is our commitment. It is great working with a team of finance people whose primary goal is ministry. Banks are not this way. Lending institutions are not this way. We feel we have a Kingdom partnership with Cornerstone that enables us to expand and improve our ministry in some really incredible ways. What a God-send Cornerstone has been to us!” |
