![]() Northwest Filipino Baptist Church Northwest Filipino Baptist Church was established in 1988 with a core membership of 32 people. They began meeting in the gymnasium of the Elk Grove Baptist Church. In 1992, the church began to look at purchasing its own facility and came to the BGC Cornerstone Fund for help. Since moving into their new facility in 1992 the church has grown steadily. The new building has given the congregation a visible presence and a space of its own allowing it to more effectively reach those in the community. They are now averaging 260 people in attendance for their Sunday service. Financing has allowed this congregation to begin a Day Care Ministry, develop a youth ministry, and a regeneration ministry. The regeneration ministry is geared towards reaching second generation Filipino-Americans with Christ’s Love. Pastor Godfrey Catanus states, “I thank God for the BGC Cornerstone Fund. It was there for us at the time of our great need. Without a loan from the BGC Cornerstone Fund our ministry would have been stifled. They also understand the mission and ministry of our church.” |
