 Bethel Baptist Church When Bethel Baptist Church in Santa Rosa, CA was looking to make an addition to their existing facility they came to the BGC Cornerstone Fund, a ministry of the Baptist General Conference. Financing from the Fund has allowed this growing congregation to build a new ministry center. The ministry center is a multi-purpose building being used to expand the reach of Bethel Baptist. Several new ministries were started because of the new facility. The multi purpose building is used to serve free lunches to children in the community who would otherwise likely go without lunch. The ministry center also is used for equipping and training of local pastors and lay leaders because it gives the church body a place to host seminars, workshops, and network broadcasts. The student ministries of Bethel were also able to expand their meeting space with monies from the project. They were able to incorporate a new a room in the design of the facility that is inviting to the youth in their community who might not otherwise walk into a “church building”. The new youth meeting space is large enough to house a pool table, ping pong, and foosball tables that. These “tools” are places where students gather, allowing them to feel welcome and comfortable and providing a place to share life together.
